The defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights have picked up where they left off, winning their first six games.

Bedard, 18, so far has scored a pair of goals and two assists, but his offense has been stymied over the past week. In Chicago’s first four games, he had 20 shots on goal and attempted 16 others that were blocked, hit the post/crossbar or went wide. Bedard had just one goal — a wrap-around against reigning Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark in Boston — and two assists in the span, but he was getting great chances.
It’s not just Bedard who has been skating uphill; so have the Blackhawks, who started the season winning two of their first four games but then bookended losses to the Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins around the loss to Vegas. “We’ve got talent, for one,” coach Bruce Cassidy said when asked about the undefeated start. “We have different guys that can help you win. That’s probably the simplest answer. We’ve got a lot of good players that can hurt you offensively.”
