If you’ve got a lot of weight to lose, the thought of exercising can feel like a catch-22 – you know you have to exercise to lose the weight, but the weight makes it hard to exercise. This feeling of being stuck can actually hold you back even more than the weight itself – but it is possible to break free and get moving.you and not against you. After helping many of my patients lose weight , I’m convinced that the secret to starting a routine exercise program is that it all begins in your head.
In general, I recommend a weekly 10% increase in activity for people who are already active; but if you are starting out, you may need to go slower - remember that this is an ongoing effort.
