Due to the state's trigger law, Texas will outlaw abortion within 30 days of the Supreme Court's ruling, Fort Bend County District Attorney Brian Middleton said. As such, he said he's responsible for prosecuting individuals accused of having an abortion.

Friday, Fort Bend County District Attorney Brian Middleton issued a statement detailing how his office will handle the prosecutions of abortions in the county., Texas will outlaw abortion within 30 days of the Supreme Court's ruling, Middleton said. As such, he said he's responsible for prosecuting individuals accused of having had an abortion.

The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office does not grant blanket immunity to anyone to violate Texas law, Middleton said, and every criminal complaint presented to his office will be carefully reviewed and measured against the applicable criminal statutes, the United States Constitution and the Texas Constitution.Middleton said he'll make the final determination to prosecute or to decline prosecution in abortion cases.
