Sebastian Stan wants to make sure that Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans aren’t the only “swole” guys in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
, “I was so insecure being around these massive [expletive] guys, so I started lifting really heavy and ate a lot.” All that eating and heavy lifting paid off for the Marvel star. He’s gotten so buff, certain communities online have begun calling him the “Winter Swoldier,” and the new nickname certainly fits., Stan underwent his transformation which ended up causing some strange consequences. He’d outgrown the metal arm attachment that defined his character, Bucky Barnes.
Despite higher levels of fitness, Stan’s still aware that he’s up against some heavyweight competition. “I mean, next to Evans and Hemsworth and all those guys, I feel like I’m 50 miles behind. I don’t think I can get to that size, to be honest,” Stan said. It’s nice to know that even stars known for their rippling physiques are also envious of the otherworldly beefiness of Hemsworth and Evans. Beside those musclebound powerhouses, even a hunk of a man like Stan could feel self-conscious.
With all that said, Stan, at 37, is clearly proud of the results of his hard work. “My body right now is probably the best it’s ever been,” he said, and he’s not wrong. Though he claims he’ll never be at the same stature as the Hemsworths and Evans of the world, based on how far he’s come, he’s well on his way to legendary status.
