Ohio State coach Ryan Day said the floor vs. ceiling debate is an important one in the quarterback competition, to a point.
“No, I wouldn’t say that,” Day said. “I think if all things were equal, you probably go with the guy who’s been in the program longer — at least for the first half — and you go from there.That “first half” comment is also a clue — further evidence that Day is considering playing both quarterbacks against the Hoosiers.
He also indicated that, in this competition, a higher ceiling cannot be accompanied by a lower floor.
