star Julia Butters was undaunted, showing up to the 92nd Academy Awards in a frothy, bubblegum pink confection of a Christian Siriano gown .on the red carpet, and, like many of them, she had a fashion secret up her sleeve: she had closely collaborated with Siriano to make her dream dress a reality. “Julia’s stylist, Enrique Melendez, reached out to us and told us she was a big fan, which we thought was so cute,” Siriano toldon Sunday night. “We don’t always dress girls that young, but Julia is so special and was so amazing in.
Butters and Siriano discussed what the dress should look like, with Butters sending the designer a sketch approximating what she wanted, including voluminous sleeves and a dramatic train, both of which ended up in the final product:Siriano then sent back his interpretation of Butters’s vision, and just like that, an unforgettable Oscars look was born:Sunday’s picture-perfect look proved that Butters knows exactly what to do on the red carpet.
