How Grace Potter got her groove back on her new critically acclaimed solo album ‘Daylight’

It was a bigger personal change that perhaps led her back to music and her new critically acclaimed solo album,. Looking back at what made her decide to release songs she had no plans to release she says it was a much bigger life change. Potter: I was a teenager when the Nocturnals started. I wanted to make sure that music was healthy for me because so many things that happened, there was a lot of unraveling and I felt like I was causing a lot more pain than joy at certain points. And my career and the sort of rise and fall of fame caused more harm than good. And so I kind of put myself through a little bit of an elimination diet with my lifestyle.
Potter: Jackson was at my house Saturday night and we had a listening party for the album. We talked about"These Days" and about how when you put out a record it's not just your story anymore. It becomes everybody's story. And I don't have enough songs in my artillery to really understand what it might be like if this record affects people the way it's been affecting just the few folks who've heard the whole thing.
