It was difficult to envision the New York Giants leaving the 2024 NFL Draft without selecting an inside linebacker to bolster a rather thin unit. So in the sixth round with their final pick, they plucked UCLA's leading tackler, Darius Muasau . The 2023 second-team All-Pac-12 selection has led the Bruins in tackles over the past two seasons, tallying 166 total tackles.
Although he's a sixth-round pick, Muasau has a chance to impress the coaching staff and work his way into the two-deep at the position. Two of the most underrated aspects of playing linebacker are the ability to play through bumps and bruises and to relentlessly hunt the football. Muasau is a remarkably durable linebacker, considering he is only 6-0 and 225 pounds.
