Postdoctoral Associate
Dr. Xi Chen's lab studies the unction and mechanism of Endoplasmic Reticulum protein quality control machinery in cancer progression, metastasis and therapy resistance. Research will focus on specializing in ER stress, Unfolded Protein Response , biochemistry, transgenic and preclinical animal models, cancer biology and immunology.
The long-term goals is to elucidate the significance and mechanisms of ER proteostasis in cancer progression, metastasis and therapy resistance, and developing mechanism-based novel therapies to overcome therapy resistance and transform cancer to a manageable chronic disease. To further study a recently revealed unprecedented role of the IRE1a/XBP1 branch of the UPR in mediating tumor homeostasis and therapy resistance.Presents results in professional forums .
