Downtown Houston will soon be festooned with lights in advance of the yuletide season.
City Lights Downtown Holiday Magic is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday, with a ceremonial lighting on the plaza at Avenida Houston. The light show is slated to last through Jan. 2, 2023.
“This will be an exciting holiday season as downtown Houston transforms itself into a signature wonderland unlike anything we have seen in years past,” Michael Heckman, CEO of Houston First Corp., said in a news release. “From the elaborate holiday villages to skating on the largest outdoor ice-skating rink in the southwest, families and visitors will now have multiple opportunities to make new holiday memories.
