Houston Methodist is one of the nation's top large employers, second only to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Forbes's list of top large employers filled with Texas companies.

Forbes created the list based on a survey of about 45,000 American workers from companies that employ more than 5,000 employees conducted in partnership with German market research firm Statista. The Forbes list ranks the top 500 companies that received the most recommendations in the survey.— no. 37 and no. 38, respectively.
