Showers and storms are in the forecast for Sunday. Meteorologist Pat Cavlin has a timeline.
HOUSTON — Overnight temperatures will drop to comfortable levels in the low to mid 60s with partly cloudy to mainly clear skies. The slightly cooler temperatures are thanks to a modest drop in humidity behind storms that went through Thursday night. For this weekend, Saturday will be the only day for outdoor activities. Expect partly cloudy skies with afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
It looks like rain will become more likely across the area as the afternoon begins, lasting through the evening hours before things improve Sunday night.Flooding will be a big concern, especially for water-logged areas north of the city. High resolution models are suggesting training, or stationary, thunderstorms developing Sunday afternoon. If these storms form over northern areas that saw flooding last week, flash flooding will become a big concern.
