An investigation is underway after an 18-month-old girl was killed in a crash on Tuesday night.
Houston police are investigating following a deadly crash on Tuesday night, officials said. Details are limited, but Houston police said the crash occurred in the 5900 block of Guhn, around 6:30 p.m.Officials said a driver was entering the location and driving through the parking lot. As they turned to enter the back side of the parking lot, unknown to the driver, there was a child playing in the parking lot, and the driver struck the child.
Authorities said when the driver struck the child, they felt a bump and upon feeling the bump, they immediately got out of their vehicle to observe what they struck. That's where they found the child on the ground, and they started to render aid to the child while calling 911. Authorities said the child, an 18-month-old girl, died at the hospital. Officials said the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities added there were no signs of intoxication.
