Houston-area woman held captive. tortured for five days by man she met on Bumble, court docs show
A 21-year-old man is accused of holding a woman who met him on a dating app captive and torturing her for five days in Spring, court documents show.
Zachary Mills, 21, was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping. He was taken to Harris County Jail. After matching on Bumble the woman agreed to go to Mills' apartment, court documents show. Mills picked her up from her residence and drove her back to his apartment Dec. 24 in the 8000 block of Augusta Pines in Spring, court documents state. The woman told authorities as soon as they got to his apartment he attempted to initiate sex. When she rejected his advances, he began to assault her and would not let her leave, according to court documents.
He hit her with a closed fist and bit her neck and face, court documents stated. When his hands got tired from hitting her he used a screwdriver handle to hit her, causing serious bodily injury, officials stated. The woman told officers she attempted to leave but he would just assault her more. Eventually, on Thursday, Dec. 29, Mills left the apartment and went to his father’s house, giving the woman a chance to escape, court records state. When he was gone, the woman said she gathered her clothes and ran out of the apartment, according to court documents. She went up to the first people she came across after escaping and was helped by a neighbor, Mark Herman from Harris County Constable Precinct Four posted on Facebook.
