Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, the state’s third-largest system, also offers one of the higher starting salaries in the region, at $60,500. The district offered two $500 recruitment and retention stipends for full-time professional staff, one to be paid in the fall semester and the other to be paid in the spring semester.

Although federal and state funding led to significant increases in teacher compensation, salary increases have not kept up with recent inflation rates, and Texas ranks 28th in the nation for average teacher salary, according to the state report.
