In Season 7, while standing in the dragon pit, Daenerys Targaryen references how this is where the"end" of her family began, which is a nod to the dragon pit being the place where Aegon II was crowned as king following Viserys's death.In Season 2, Tywin Lannister talks about how Harrenhal was known as"the greatest fortress ever built" until"dragons happened," and he mentions how Harren and his sons were burned alive inside.
