Why House Of The Dragon Episode 9 Was Rhaenys' Best One Yet With Rhaenyra and husband Prince Daemon Targaryen , completely absent from the episode, there were not many to speak for the appointed heir. Only Lord Lyman Beesbury stood up during the Small Council meeting to defend Rhaenyra's claim. Unfortunately, Ser Criston Cole killed him following his protestations.
House of the Dragon episode 9 set the stage for the Targaryen civil war that that is to come. Otto proved his cunning by quickly taking over the crown and eliminating any opposition within 48 hours. Although Aegon initially proclaimed his disgust for the throne, following the adoration from his subjects during his coronation, he seemingly embraced his responsibilities as their new ruler.
