A San Antonio university and its subsidiary allege the owner of the former Southwest General Hospital, now known as Texas Vista Medical Center, has not paid them for medical residents' services.
A San Antonio university has accused Texas Vista Medical Center’s owner of failing to pay for medical residents' work at the Southwest Side hospital,The University of the Incarnate Word and the Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research, a subsidiary of the university, allege in a lawsuit filed April 5 thatand Texas Vista owe $4.5 million for services provided by residents — med school grads in post-graduate training.
The 327-bed hospital at 7400 Barlite Blvd. contracted with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and funds from CMS were to go to the university’s institute to pay for residents' services. In early November, Texas Vista paid $537,500 for invoices from February and March of 2022 but not the rest of the balance.
