TOWN and police officials along with fifth district Rep. Emilio Bernardino Yulo , Police Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, PRO-Western Visayas director, and Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo , lead the layering of the time capsule during the groundbreaking of the new police station in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, May 3. Hinigaran police chief Police Major Clifford Batadhay said the budget for the construction of the two-story building is P9.6 million. On behalf of the police force of Hinigaran, Batadhay expressed their gratitude for the support and commitment extended by the local government of Hinigaran and the office of Rep. Yulo, who made the construction of the PNP building possible.Currently, the town police force is staying in a building that was previously occupied by the Bureau of Fire Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office .

Batadhay said the construction of the new police station is expected to be completed by the end of this year. He said they are proposing to the local government to utilize the old police station building as barracks for the personnel, impounding area, and parking space.
