Hillshire Brands Company is recalling 15,876 pounds of smoked sausage due to concerns the product had been contaminated with foreign objects.
The objects were more specifically bone fragments, and the products were distributed to retailers in seven states,One person suffered an oral injury as a result of consuming the product, but no other injuries were reported at this time.
According to the agency, the items were produced on June 14, 2023, with a sell-by date of Nov. 11, 2023, on the front of the package. The recalled products were shipped to stores in Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, Maryland, New Mexico, New York and North Carolina. The agency is urging customers to throw away the recalled products or return them to their place of purchase.
