Officials of the Utah Department of Transportation said that snowfall will persist over the Northern and Central Wasatch regions before lingering into the southeast, affecting the remainder of the state. The majority of road impacts will be confined to routes situated above 5,000 feet. While the bulk of the steady rain and snowfall is projected to move out of the state by Sunday morning, scattered shower activity could continue into Sunday evening. The road conditions are widely expected to recover by Sunday afternoon, but isolated snow accumulation remains possible for upper-elevation routes into Sunday night.
Drivers are strongly advised to exercise caution. Those utilizing canyon and mountain routes should remain vigilant, as Traction Laws may be enforced in certain areas to ensure safe travel conditions. UDOT anticipates the following routes to experience weather-related travel concerns through midday Sunday:I-70, Cove Fort to Fremont Jct.US-191, Over the Uintas, through Indian Canyon, and near MonticelloUS-89, Over Logan Summit and Sardine Summit, Spanish Fork to Mt. Carmel Jct.
