Substantive policy questions:
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., the minority leader, called the new panel the “Select Committee on Insurrection Protection.” The Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which is led by Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., and potentially the new Judiciary subcommittee.
But some Republicans would prefer not to focus on the topic, which would inevitably involve rehashing what happened during the assault and their roles in Trump’s election subversion efforts.
