My incredible partner and I have been together for a little over a year now, and our relationship has been so strong. Lately, however, I have begun to notice my partner’s habitual unwillingness to address the harder issues that inevitably come up in a relationship. This has resulted in small white lies and the habit of not telling a whole story. There is a recent issue that I don’t know how to address. My partner and his ex are still very good friends, and I have known this from the beginning.
I know he loves this person and I know they both mean a lot to one another and still do, but I’ve started to feel discomfort with that love, and maybe things aren’t as solid as I thought. He has brought up how upset he knew I would be about the baby, and honestly, I don’t really care, but I do feel like it’s almost as if he’s projecting that he knows I would be upset if I knew the full extent of the situation, which he did not share with me.
