Montgomery, Alabama
Mother’s day weekend was pleasant across central and south Alabama. However, our weather pattern quickly becomes much more active again early this week. Rain and storms may come through in multiple rounds Monday through Tuesday. Rain amounts could be heavy, with area rain totals of 2-4″. Some storms may be strong to severe. Damaging winds look like the primary risk. But a couple tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
Confidence is low in the evolution of storms and severe risk. One round of storms may time out for mid-late Monday morning. Another round of storms may move through late Monday night into Tuesday morning. The first round of storms may stabilize the atmosphere such that the second round remains sub-severe. Nonetheless, be weather aware, and check back for updates to our forecast.
Additional scattered storms may form Tuesday afternoon, and they may become strong to marginally severe. We should get a lull in rain and storms Wednesday, with some sunshine in the sky. Another round of rain and storms arrive late this week, with most of that occurring Friday. Clouds likely increase Thursday. Some showers and storms may linger into next weekend. Although, our area may trend drier instead.
