Despite their moniker, the Nasty Women of Porter County had a cordial exchange with the Porter County Board of Commissioners on Friday.

The use of wristbands or stamps to identify those who were eligible to consume alcohol was also considered. Commissioner Laura Blaney, D-South, expressed concern that a wristband system would create further dysfunction at shows at the Memorial Opera House where flow is difficult as patrons make their way through tight quarters for drinks and restrooms that are not handicap accessible during intermission.
While no formal action was taken since it was an administrative meeting, commissioners did lean toward adopting the use of stamps to identify those old enough to drink alcohol as the practice would be quicker and less expensive than using wristbands.
