KJP and Kirby keep 'deferring' questions regarding Biden's classified documents. READ:
The president vowed to"soon" address the American public directly about the documents and investigation itself but has largely ignored shouted questions at White House events.Jean-Pierre engaged in an extended back-and-forth with NBC News's Kristen Welker on the subject during Wednesday's press briefing but declined to preview any plans for the president to hold a press conference on the subject.
"We totally understand the question and don't have anything to preview right at this time on any opportunities for the president to address this, but as you all know, and I know, questions were shouted earlier," Jean-Pierre stated."There's many opportunities that you all have with him where he takes all of your questions, and he has over the past two weeks."
Welker noted that reporters"have been shouting" questions at Biden, which have nearly all been avoided. "Well, no. He's answered, actually. When he was in California, he took a question," Jean-Pierre countered."When he was in Mexico City, he was asked to — he took a question the day after that." "So I'm just saying that it's not that he hasn't addressed this at all. He has," she continued."I just don't have anything to preview on a potential press conference or anything like that and an opportunity that you will have to hear from him directly."You can watch Wednesday's briefing in full below.
