As dominant as he was that season, it wasn't a guarantee he'd dominate Northwest: Kershaw was coming off an injury and it wasn't certain if he'd start.
The Texans were keeping the game close when Kershaw stepped into the batter's box in the fourth inning and launched a homer over the centerfield wall.Highland Park tacked on four runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on a run rule. And he's still going into his mid-30s. This season, he was limited by a shoulder injury, but he still threw 131 innings with a 2.46 ERA. Five years after he retires, he'll be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
