HCSO: Man walking in middle of North Fwy Service Road hit, killed by driver
Harris County Sheriff's deputies investigate a fatal crash involving a driver and pedestrian on the North Freeway Service Road on July 21, 2022.A man walking in the middle lane of a service road in the Greater Greenspoint area was struck and killed Thursday night by a driver, according to authorities.
Deputies responded to reports of the collision around 8:55 p.m. along the northbound North Freeway Service Road near Remington Valley Drive and found the man dead, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.Houston doctors warn Texas heat creates dangerous situation for those taking blood pressure medicine
The driver of the vehicle, a Lexus RX 350, remained at the location until deputies arrived, HCSO said, adding the driver exhibited signs of impairment and was taken into custody for DWI but will not be at fault for hitting the pedestrian. "The pedestrian failed to yield the right-of-way to vehicular traffic," HCSO Sgt. B. Beaty said."The driver was not at fault for this crash. It's going to be the fault of the pedestrian."
