Hays Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent Eric Wright thanked the community for their support following the fatal school bus crash in Buda
A Hays CISD bus carrying 44 pre-K students and 11 adults from Tom Green Elementary School crashed with a concrete truck on State Highway 21 in Bastrop County, resulting two fatalities and multiple injuries.
"During a time of tragedy, you often times see how powerful support is in the community," Wright said. "So I want to thank everybody for their prayers, for their donations, for the gift of food, for the gift of time and then just being there to give a hug when necessary, so thank you to our community."Crisis counselors will remain at Tom Green Elementary for a few more weeks, and the district aims to provide long-term care for each of the victims involved.
