Hayley Kiyoko has some advice for anyone else struggling at home amid coronavirus
It's easy to see that, in the midst of the coronavirus, self-isolation and social distancing, people everywhere are having a hard time adjusting to the new normal. Luckily,On Tuesday , Kiyoko took to her Instagram to share some thoughts that she had in a recent therapy session that are helping her deal with adjusting to life in quarantine."I had a really productive talk with my therapist today," she wrote in a new post.
The singer explained that what everyone is experiencing could be considered a form of grief."We are experiencing grief for the life that we imagined, over the life that we could have had," she said."The timeline we thought we had control over is completely out of our hands. That life we imagined can and will happen but we are forced to appreciate the now."
Closing out her post, Kiyoko underscored that feeling bad about the developing situation is natural and that allowing yourself to feel that sadness is better for you in the long run."It's okay to feel uncomfortable, upset, lost, frustrated, we have to go through the grieving process," she wrote."But once we do, we will see the beauty of now. And we will triumph."
