The younger brother of “Scream” actress Hayden Panettiere died Feb. 19 at his home in Nyack, NY.
“Jansen’s heart could be seen in his eyes, and his charm in his brilliant, engaging smile; his soul in his masterful and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit,” said his family in a. “His charisma, warmth, compassion for others, and his creative spirit will live forever in our hearts and in the hearts of all whom he encountered.”
Panettiere was found by a friend unresponsive and sitting upright in a chair, according to the police report obtained by The Post from the Orangetown Police Department. The friend called 911 and performed CPR on him. When EMTs arrived around 5 p.m., they found Panettiere lying on his back on the floor of his living room, not breathing and “cold to the touch,” according to the report. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
