Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs has revealed his thoughts on returning to the franchise as Lucius Malfoy in a possible film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Written by Enola Holmes screenwriter Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a two-part stage play that picks up 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Rumors of a potential film adaptation of the play have been rampant since it first debuted in London’s West End in 2016.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Most recently, Isaacs spoke with RadioTimes.com about a potential return to the Wizarding World franchise and the possibility of Warner Bros. pushing forward with a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie. Admitting that not all projects written for the stage translate well to film, Isaacs seemed guarded about the possibility of such a project coming to fruition.

Sometimes things that work as books don't work in theatre, so I wouldn't... err... never say never. Will A Cursed Child Movie Actually Happen? Currently, there is no official confirmation that a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child film will happen. While Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav had previously expressed his interest in further expanding the Harry Potter franchise, it is unclear what form those projects might take.
Though Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton seems keen on returning to his role, the potential involvement of the franchise’s three lead actors, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, is less sure. While Grint has previously explained he would only return if everyone did, Radcliffe has made it clear he is not yet ready to return to the role of Harry Potter.
