Her latest #FitnessFriday post also helps lower her anxiety.
This week, Berry shared a #FitnessFriday workout on herthat’s all about stabilizing and opening up the hips. “A lot of people hold a LOT of stress and anxiety in their hip area, and it’s important to target this area when stretching,” she wrote in the caption. “When I take time to work on my hip stability, I’m not only deepening my flexibility but decompressing and building natural energy - spoiler: it feels SO good.
Berry shared the step-by-step hip stabilizing workout that she does with her trainer, Peter Lee Thomas. To do these five exercises, all you’ll need is a space with a wall you can lean against, your own body weight, and a partner—so get ready.Hips need to warm up to open up, so Berry begins with a heat-building, loosening Dragon Swing. She brings her legs apart and arms over her head, leans forward, and swings back and forth 10-20 times.
The first three poses get the hips warmed up and stable, and Bulldog Stretch opens them up even further. Here, she moves onto her forearms—similar to how you would in a forearm plank—but places her knees on the ground and far apart from each other. Feel the burn! She holds this for 30-60 seconds.Think you can’t do the splits? Try doing them against a wall. As a conclusion to her hip-stabilizing exercises, Berry closes her workout out with a Wall-Assisted Split.
