The Max series from Matthew A. Cherry, which counts Scott Mescudi and Issa Rae among its voice cast, is set to debut Sept. 21.

“I wish I had a calling. What’s my legacy?” Angela asks before Stephen responds, “Can we have one existential crisis at a time, please?”ahead of the show’s premiere, Cherry said the TV series was an expansion onthat the team had been thinking about since their Kickstarter campaign days. “When we first saw Vashti Harrison’s amazing artwork, we had always thought, ‘What could this be?'” Cherry says.
“Even though the short didn’t have any dialogue, we did do a lot of work in trying to establish who they were,” he adds.
