Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn weighed in Wednesday, Aug. 2, on the call for mega-pop star Taylor Swift to postpone her sold-out concerts in Inglewood to signal solidarity with L.A.’s striking hotel workers.
Quoting from Swift’s song Bejeweled, Hahn added: “Taylor said it best: ‘I think it’s time to teach some lessons.’” Beginning Thursday, Aug. 3, Swift has six sold-out shows at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. The concerts are Aug. 3, 4 and 5 and again on Aug. 6, 7 and 8. Hotel workers on strike picket outside the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, Monday, July 3, 2023. Unite Here Local 11, which represents some 30,000 hotel workers, is negotiating for better wages, improved health care benefits, higher pension contributions and less strenuous workloads.
