A Huntington Beach police officer was hospitalized and seven people were arrested after officers were attacked by a group on the beach Wednesday night.
At about 8:40 p.m., officers approached a woman on Huntington City Beach who was suspected of drinking alcohol, police said.
Multiple officers suffered minor injuries, police said, and one was hospitalized for a time but was released and is recovering, according to police spokeswoman Angela Bennett.According to police, Tamia Fuery, 20, of Los Angeles was arrested on suspicion of obstructing or resisting a peace officer, falsely identifying to a peace officer and consuming alcohol on the city beach. She was booked at Orange County Jail, according to jail records.
Andre Lamar Moore, 24, of Los Angeles was arrested on suspicion of lynching, according to police. He was booked into jail with bail set at $20,000 and also is expected in court Friday, according to jail records.
