A brand new fan-created video shows Gwen Stacy's death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in real-time, and somehow it makes it so much more tragic.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video imagines Gwen Stacy's death without slow-mo, and it's somehow better. Andrew Garfield's final Spider-Man film was released all the way back in 2014. While the film wasn't exactly a critical darling, it had some great moments, including the heartbreaking death of Gwen Stacy.
A fan-made video from super spoon shows what Gwen's death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 looked like in real-time, and somehow it makes it more tragically better. Watch the clip below: SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Director Marc Webb decided to transition into a slow-mo shot to intensify the dramatic stakes of the scene. That being said, seeing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sequence in real-time emphasizes how frenzied the situation was leading to Gwen's demise.
The significance of the scene wasn't lost on the actor. Subsequently, Garfield admitted that it was the Spider-Man: No Way Home scene that sold him on the project. For fans of The Amazing Spider-Man series, it was also a very special moment. Not only did it pay homage to the heartbreaking death of Gwen in the sequel, but it also allowed Garfield to flex his acting muscles as he fought tears after saving MJ.
At this point, it's uncertain if Garfield will still return as Spider-Man on the screen. After his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there was a campaign to continue his story as the web-slinger after The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There's no word yet if there's an actual movement with this matter, but the burgeoning multiverse may pave the way for his comeback.
