The way the Roadway Safety Program works is based on community policing and public interaction. Advance Auto Parts is giving Gulf Shores Police $1,000 in gift cards that officers can hand out instead of tickets.

) - Gulf Shores Police and Advance Auto Parts are teaming up to make the roadways in the area safer. The announcement was made Thursday morning, May 2, 2024 at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Advance Auto Parts store at Pelican Place shopping mall.

This would be done at the discretion of individual officers and only for equipment violations such as burned-out headlights and taillights. Many of the folks who turned out Thursday said they think the partnership is a great idea and will be positive for law enforcement and the driving public.
