Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) is enjoying a double-digit lead against Democrat challenger Robert Francis O’Rourke, a University of Texas/Texas Politics Project Poll released this week found.

Greg Abbott is enjoying a double-digit lead against Democrat challenger Robert Francis O’Rourke, a University of Texas/Texas Politics Project Poll released this week found.a comfortable lead against his Democrat challenger, leading O’Rourke by 11 percent, or 54 percent to the Democrat’s 43 percent. Abbott’s lead is well outside of that particular sample’s +/- 3.30 percent margin of error.
The state economy came in second place, with 14 percent choosing that as the most important issue for their vote. The top issues of Republicans seemed to align more closely with the top issues of voters overall, as most are concerned with immigration and border security, as well as the economy.
