Yet one stands head and shoulders above the rest, and in a preview for Green Arrow #4, he makes his grand return to continuity, raising a number of questions about where he has been.

Green Arrow has been plucked from the timestream, and finds himself facing the Parallax version of Hal Jordan. Parallax replays his history with Green Arrow, claiming he was only trying to fix things and criticizing Ollie for turning against him. Green Arrow is unmoved, and interrogates how the villain has returned, guessing he hid himself in the future.
Parallax Is Back to Ruin Green Arrow's Family Green Arrow is right to be apprehensive about Parallax. The dark and twisted form of Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Parallax is responsible for not only destroying the Green Lantern Corps, but also the entire universe. After Coast City was destroyed, Hal tried to use his power to bring it back. This angered the Guardians, who tried to take Hal’s ring away. Instead, Hal went on a rampage, massacring the other Lanterns.
How Exactly Did Parallax Return? Yet the Hal Jordan Green Arrow encounters is still very much in his Parallax stage, which leads to the question: how did he return? Hal thoroughly purged himself of the Parallax entity, but here it is as if it never happened. Could this be an impostor? Parallax remembers everything he went through, including the events of Zero Hour as well as his sacrifice during The Final Night, making this scenario highly unlikely.
While the preview does not state it, Green Arrow #4’s cover confirms Parallax has been hiding in the 31st century, the home of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Does the Legion factor into his plans, or did he pick the 31st century for other reasons? Parallax wields temporal energy, which means he can go anywhere in time, yet he chose the 31st century.
