Angara, Baler Mayor Rhett Ronan Angara, Aurora Rep. Rommel Angara and Department of Tourism Regional Director Carolina Uy witnessed the laying of the wreath at the Baler Church. National Historical Commission of the Philippines Chairman Rene Escalante and Col. Joseph Norwin Pasamonte, the Brigade Commander 703rd Agila also attended the celebration.
Ambassador Moragas Sanchez noted the significance of the event, which highlights the linkages, cultural heritage, and real friendship between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Spain. DOT Secretary Cristina Garcia-Frasco was not able to attend the event because she reportedly has colds and sore throat as of last night.
