SEVERAL groups on Thursday urged the government to declare a public health emergency in Batangas and investigate the health impacts of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to its residents.

Medical and legal practitioners and residents from affected communities and concerned organizations launched a sign-on asking the Department of Health to declare a public health emergency.The campaign was led by the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice , in partnership with the Asian Peoples' Movement on Debt and Development .'The people affected are not just ordinary statistics. They are our family and fellow countrymen.
