The Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have provided a total of P740,000 to some 37 families that have been affected by the oil spill in in Naujan town in Oriental Mindoro. ManilaBulletin READ:
In a statement, the OVP said the 37 parents of students from the Francisco Tria Memorial School received P20,000 cash assistance last June 14.
The families who received the cash assistance were those affected by the sinking of MT Princess Empress, which carried over 800,000 liters of industrial fuel oil, last Feb. 28.According to the OVP, its Disaster Operations Center conducted a five-day relief mission in Oriental Mindoro from April 14 to 18.In her recent One Year Report wherein she thanked the OVP’s partners, Vice President Sara Duterte explained the goal of the OVP-DOC.
