Florida Gov. DeSantis takes a veiled swipe at ‘loser’ Trump at Iowa event
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took a jab at former president Donald Trump in Iowa on Saturday, warning Republican voters that the party needs to “reject the culture of losing” if they want to wrestle power back from Democrats in 2024.for the White House any day, did not directly name Trump in his speech but clearly alluded to the leading Republican candidate.
Trump was scheduled to host his own Iowa event Saturday in Des Moines, but canceled the event due to a tornado warning., the governor has been hesitant to criticize the ex-president who endorsed his gubernatorial campaign in 2018. DeSantis told voters that in order for conservatives to secure victories in the upcoming elections, they need to remain focused on the issues and “reject the culture of losing,” appearing to reference Biden’s 2020 election victory over Trump.
