Stephen F. Austin State University to join University of Texas System

“Stephen F. Austin State University’s transition into the UT System is proceeding exceedingly well, and we’re delighted that Ms. Oglesbee has agreed to take the leadership role at this critical time,” UT System Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife said. “Everyone with whom we have worked, from Chair Gantt and the SFA board to President Westbrook and the entire SFA university community, has contributed tirelessly to make this transition a success.
UT System officials had also told SFA leaders that it would immediately provide $1 million more for annual scholarships and $5.5 million for faculty salaries, the Tribune reported. And a financial analysis by both institutions showed that joining the system would also provide them $124 million in additional value.
