“I didn’t find it concerning,” Iowa senator Chuck Grassley said of the transcript Wednesday. “There was no quid pro quo, you’d have to have that if there was going to be anything wrong.”This mode of response substitutes self-confident horserace nihilism for any engagement with the substance of the scandal:
