BACOLOD CITY – Herlan Gomez won the World Boxing Council-Asian Boxing Council silver bantamweight title in Bangkok, Thailand via a first round knockout last week.
The E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental native, who is also the reigning Asian Boxing Federation bantamweight champion, beat IBF-Asia champion Komgrich Nantapech of Udon Thani, Thailand in their featured match at Highland Boxing Show at the Spaceplus Bangkok in RCA Plaza on September 28.Gomez thanked the local government for the financial support and the people of E. B. Magalona for their prayers and moral support in this particular bout and all his other matches.
