Watch go-to Indie harpist, marylattimore's, filmed performance of ItFeelsLikeFloating!
Being the first artist in the North Carolina Arts Council's In the Water series was special for harpist Mary Lattimore, a Tar Heel State native whose filmed performance of "It Feels Like Floating" from the session is premiering below.
"I really loved being invited to participate, especially to get to play the first one of the series," Lattimore, who grew up in Shelby, N.C., says. Even better was that In the Water performance, part of the NCAC's year-long Come Hear NC campaign, took place at the historic Happy Valley Chapel of Rest church in Polkville, where her family has a farm.
Lattimore's solo performance took place during April and will be featured on the Come Hear NC website and YouTube channel. Future performances are planned at other venues by Rhiannon Giddens, Rapsody, Vanessa Ferguson and the Mountain Goats. Lattimore, meanwhile, leaves for Europe on Aug. 8 for a five-week tour that includes her first performances in Russia.
