A Glenview man is facing additional charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault and predatory criminal sexual abuse on two additional complaints allegedly abusing minor children.
A Glenview man is facing additional charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault and predatory criminal sexual abuse for on two additional complaints allegedly abusing minor children, according to the Glenview Police Department.
Bruce Claver, 57, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane, was charged Friday with predatory criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse following a complaint made on Jan. 10, according to a news release Monday. The continued investigation of these incidents revealed two additional complaints involving separate minor children. Claver was brought to the Skokie Courthouse for a bond hearing on Feb. 5.Claver was previously arrested on Jan.
The Glenview Police Department started an investigation Dec. 24 after a parent of two minor children made a complaint to police that Claver allegedly abused the youngsters over several years.While conducting the investigation, Glenview Police Sgt. Joel Detloff said, in January, police learned Claver allegedly abused a third child. Claver is facing charges for all three situations. There is no family relationship between Claver and the victims.
A spokesperson for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office said in a January email predatory criminal sexual assault is a Class X felony and aggravated criminal sexual abuse is a Class 2 felony. If convicted, he could face between 12 and 44 years in prison, according to Illinois law. Police received assistance in the initial investigation from the Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County, the Department of Child and Family Services and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to the release
