It was business as usual for Bergen County's top program as Ridgewood was once again crowned county champions
When third-seeded Immaculate Heart Academy took the field against top-seeded Ridgewood, ranked No. 12 in the NJ.com Top 20, the only thing players on either side had experienced in their lives was Ridgewood’s dominance on the lacrosse field. IHA stood across the field from the Bergen County champions 18 years running, and the Maroons had eyes on their 19th consecutive title.
By the time the final whistle sounded, IHA had pulled off the biggest upset in tournament history, holding on for a 12-11 victory and ending Ridgewood’s reign as county champions in an instant classic at Westwood High School in the Township of Washington.The N.J.
